About GreenGauge Homes

The principle behind GreenGauge Homes is: “Making Sustainable Housing Affordable”.

We aim to deliver housing that meets the increased standards of sustainability, but does this in an affordable, practical way, and with reduced Cost in Use.

Rather than make huge, possibly costly steps into the unknown, we start with the known, trusted methods of construction and procurement and identify small but significant improvements which can be made, evaluated and implemented more widely.

Each GreenGauge homes project is a normal housing scheme with real residents. Construction is designed to exceed current standards using appropriate, tried and tested technologies, looking ahead to the requirements of housing in, say 3 years time. The project is then monitored and evaluated to provide real data on these technologies and learn from the experiences of the residents and inform the briefing process for future housing.
